Descending through the pine forest of Pefkos you reach Makrygialos, one of the most popular summer resorts on this coast. Just 5 km from Achlia, it's the nearest spot for a full beach day with everything to hand.
The beach is long and sandy with warm, shallow water that stays gentle a long way out — ideal for families. A relaxed strip of tavernas, cafés and beach bars runs behind it, and a small harbour sits at one end.
It's an easy drive or a pleasant coastal outing: swim, eat fresh fish by the water, and be back at the pool for the sunset.
